The SwordSlasher Rod Saver is a must have item to protect your expensive rod and reel combos from being lost over the side when a big fish strikes your bait.  It will also prevent your rod from being lost if dropped over the when transferring the fishing rod to the fighting chair or stand up harness where the battle will be fought.

The rod saver is constructed of 1/8" X 3/16" PVC coated stainless steel cable with a minimum breaking strength of 1,760 pounds.  There is a 120 pound stainless steel Alpine Spring Clip on one end, which is use to secure the cable to the reel.  The other side of the cable has a 2" crimped loop.

To use the rod/reel saver you simply uncoil the cable, put the looped end around the securing object (i.e. fighting chair post, rail, or cleat) then slip the Alpine clip through the eye and pull it tight.  Now you simply clip to the reel for the ultimate safety and security of your equipment.

When your are done fishing just unclip the reel, remove the cable from cleat or chair, wash the cable and place it into any small storage area.  The clip should be oiled occasionally to keep the spring moving freely.
